Lisa came up from New Jersey this weekend to catch up with Marguerite and Jude.
Lisa was last in Boston 6 years ago so it was a welcome visit for her. Lisa lived in Boston for a short time following her last Kidney transplant in1996.
Here are Jude, Lisa and Marguerite preparing to go out for the evening. What's with the 40 shades of green? Tonight was one of those nights where everyone wore similar colours, by coincidence of course.
As you can see it's time for the wool to come out again as the autumn really kicks in for real.
Lisa arranged to meet her life-long friend Dee-Dee at a nice wee spot called Mr Dooley's. Mr Dooley's was all fiddley Dee music and all that business. It was actually very similar to Jude's favourite pub in Portaferry, Fiddlers Green. Here Lisa and Marguerite are outside MrDooley's.
Inside Mr Dooley's, awaiting Marguerite, Lisa and Jude, was Dee-Dee. Dee-Dee is also from New Jersey. Jude's memory was sketchy but he did vaguely remember meeting Dee-Dee on his first trip to America when he was a kid in 1986. Dee-Dee recalled how Jude had went on and on so much about how wonderful a their friend's t-shirt was. So much so that the friend ended up giving him the t-shirt to shut him up!
At the end of the night and Lisa is having bother standing up as her legs go!!! The auld Martinis have kicked in and by now it's bedlam. Here Jude just about manages to hold her up and all she can do is laugh.
A couple of taxis would not even take us home, that's how bad it was. I mean they took one look and just waved at us. 'See-ya, wouldn't want to be ya', or something like that. Dee-Dee was so pissed she kept getting lost. We had no idea how we are ever going to make it home until fortunately and eventually a kind hearted taxi driver gave us a lift and we made it home.
