When making what could be their final visit inside Fenway Park for some time Jude and Marguerite got all dolled up in Red for the occasion. Wha?
Sure they'll continue to dander past the place as they just live a puck of a hurling ball from it...but folks...the days are ticking past fast and as Autumn settles in so does the realisation that 01st Feb is quickly approaching. That is of course the day that Jude and Marguerite will return to the land of green. 2 years, where did it go. Hey snap out of it, it aint over yet!!!!! More about the final visit in a minute.
Skipping back a few days here and Jude went to Fenway Park as the Irish Immigration Center representative/host for a group of business leaders over from Donegal. Here he is just before the game that day on top of the Green Monster (a 37ft wall which batters try to hit the baseball over).
This fella here is one of the Donegal folk. So he heard Jude's accent and asked Jude where he was from. Jude gave him the auld, Ballygalget - Ards Peninsula - Co Down line and he replied, 'Sure I know it well, I've cousins in Ballycran'. It turned out he is 1st cousin of Jude's mate Liam Coulter's wife. It's a small world.
Game action as the Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-1.
Oh yeah, back to the final visit to Fenway (for now anyway, something tells me there will be more appearances). Lindsay and her new boyfriend Phil came along for the craic. This pic is like a suspect line up at the local cop-shop!!!!!
'What will you miss most about Fenway Park Jude?, asks Marguerite. 'Sure that would be the popcorn', replies Jude.
'One for me, none for you, one for me, none for you, one.......
In today's game the Red Sox are up against the famous New York Yankees. Here Jude is in total concentration mode. What's he like?????
'What will you miss most about Fenway Park Marguerite?, asks Jude. 'The door out of it...hehehehe....nah, only joking.......sure that would be the beer then........and of course getting dolled up in red every now and again', replies Marguerite.
Phil and Lindsay pose for a wee pic.
So here are Jude, Marguerite, Lindsay and Phil at the end of the game and actually at the end of the baseball season altogether. Sure it's good craic!!!!
All those nights at Fenway Park were great - the smells, the sounds, the singing, the home runs, the craic, the close proximity to Apt 52, 111 Park Drive and the roar of the crowd. This is the first of many 'this is the last time we'll be doing this' type of scenarios Jude and Marguerite will find themselves in over the next 3 1/2 months.
The poster says 'take the T to Fenway', but we'll just walk mucker, sure we only live a puck of a hurling ball from here.
