The 'Derry Boys' depart Boston

Over the last few weeks Jude has seen a good few of his friends disappear from Boston and return home.  Here are Tom and Darren with Jude in the Elephant & Castle pub on their last night in Boston.

Just before all the Derry lads left there were a couple of important football matches to attend to.  Firstly it was the big Manchester Derby between City and Utd.  Ciaran, Stephen and Caoltan turned up in homemade Man City tops.  They were actually very well made the night before by Stephen (his school art course turned out to be useful after all).
The three were very confident that City would win and before long they were singing and .........

...........doing the Poznan in celebration as City did indeed take the lead.

Jude, Gary and Kieran have a good laugh at the lads.

Man Utd may have lost 1-0 and with it virtually lost the league.  Ah sure who cares......let's have a few beers and a load of sweets, that'll do the job.

'Na-na-na naaaa......

The following week Jude hosted an FA Cup final party in Winchester Street.  Today Chelsea were trying to win the cup at Boston Red Sox owned Liverpool's expense.  Here Grainne, Jude and Ciaran are fully focused on the game.
Ciaran and Tom get horsed into the Nachos and Green Mountain Gringo like they have not been fed in a month.  'Ohhh...... Green Mountain Gringo ..... oh yum'.
Grainne, Jude, Stephen, Ciaran, Dave and Caoltan all watch Chelsea win the Cup.

The happiest man there today was Chelsea fan Dave 'Stepladder' Egan (on the left), Dave's from Mayo. Here are the gang about to enter the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse.

'Here Dayyyve, here's a funny game for ye, asking folk for their ID on the way into a bar, it's hilarious, great craic altogether, wanna see how it's done, wha? asked Ciaran.  'But Ciaran......will they not chuck ye out if they see ye doing that? replied Dave 'sensible shoes' Egan.  'Nahh, no way, sure we do things like this in Derry all the time, it's mighty craic altogether Dayyyve..... here's how it works look....'.

'Go on then, let's see how it works', replied Dave.

It did work.  It worked perfectly well for about an hour or so and the craic was ninety (there are no pics of it because that would have given the game away).  So when the novelty wore off Ciaran decided it would be great craic to start asking folk for ID on their way OUT of the bar.  That was even funnier..... very silly indeed .... but very funny all the same.  This humour carried on until .......... well until Ciaran made the mistake of unwittingly asking the owner for ID as he was leaving the pub.  Hehehehe...... good auld Ciaran was chucked out goodo.

Here he is standing out in the porch waiting on the lads to finish up so he could move somewhere else.
A few days later and it is Ciaran and Stephen's leaving party.  Here they are enjoying another good laugh as the gang met in the Sunset Bar and Grill in Allston. The pair would go home to Derry the following day.

Ciaran is happiest when doing something silly ...... like buying a Yard of swall.  Here he is trying his best to down it without spilling it all over himself.

So tonight's bar server was a fella from France called Christian.  When Christian left Jude's pint down with a little spare on top Jude joked, 'Christian, where's the rest of it mate'.  'Ehhh.....oh let me see now, I'll be back in a moment', replied Christian.  Moments later he returned with a small glass filled with beer.  'Hey Christian.....I was only joking mate', Jude shouted after him.

Now that's good service.

Marissa has a good laugh as Ciaran shows off his signed arm.  Ian started this craze in March so it's all his fault.

Swally!!!

A few days later and now it's Tom and Darren's turn to leave Boston.  Here are: Cillian, Tom, Jason and Cindy.

Marissa hits the Guinness.

Darren, Tom and Marissa enjoy the craic on the lads last night in Boston.

'Look, they keep serving ye pints with half the darn thing missing', said Kevin to Simon.

The last pic of the Derry Boys' trip to Boston: Tom is on the left and Darren (he's actually from Fermanagh...eh.. nevermind) is on the right.  All this particular group have now gone home. Boston will be quieter ....... but the lads will be surely missed.  Good times.
