Funny faces at Mark's leaving party

Here are the gang out having a great time as they celebrate Mark's leaving party.  It's been said before but it needs repeated, one of the great things about living in Boston is it's diversity, how folk come and go and how the population is always changing.  This is usually great but it can have it's down sides, especially when friends depart.  Tonight was both a a 'cheerio' to Mark and a celebration of his great company.

Mark worked with Jude in 2011 for 7 months before returning to Ireland.  This year he came back for the summer and worked flogging Kerrygold Irish butter and cheese to folk.  Imagine ....... he came all the way from Ireland and found a job flogging Irish cheese and butter!!

To celebrate Mark's last night the gang played a game of softball before heading to the pub.

Jude was out to ruin Mark's final softball game of 2012 but fortunately for Mark Jude's big hits tonight were all caught by those pesky Green Sox outfielders.

Rumours began to circulate around Boston Common just before 5.00pm that Jude's team 'The Red Lobsters' were planning on throwing this particular game ......... but the truth is that Mark's team, 'The Green Sox', were just too good tonight as they ran out 24-5 winners.  Here Mark shows off his amazing pitching talents.

Mark's leaving party was celebrated in Emmet's (satisfaction guaranteed every time).  Here getting the party started are, L-R: Megan (from Seattle), Wayne (from Cork), Gary (from Downpatrick, Co Down) and Mark.

Mark's funny face number 1.

On the other side of the table are, L-R:  Tom, Tara, Grace and Jude.

Gary, Mark, Ruben (from Paris), Tom and Tara enjoy the craic as the pints begin to flow.

Mark was quite hyper tonight as he was the center of everyone's attention, he was like a child on Christmas morning .......he hogged it ........ loved it he did ..... I say he just loved all the attention.

Funny face number 2.

'Here, ok I've got a drink problem ...... two drinks and only one mouth', said Mark.

Cheers!!!!!

Tom, Tara, Grace and Jude have a laugh at Mark's leaving party.

Before long Mark has ordered a load of shots, they were dark minty thingys with Guinness on top, and he insisted everyone take one ....... and then pay for it themselves later!!!  Very funny ...... that must be a County Clare trick that one, it certainly worked a treat though as .......

....... everyone grabbed the shots ......... and said 'Good luck Mark', before .........

....... struggling to down the diesel.

Check out Tom on the left there, he doesn't know whether to barf it all over the place or to down it .... and Gary there on the right he looks like he may not be agreeing with this treacle either.

Wayne, Gary, Mark and John are feeling the effects of the shot already as the giggles set in.

Tara and Grace enjoying the craic.  Folk will remember Jude's mate Darren who was in Boston for over a year (he was one of the Derry Boys), well Tara is Darren's sister.  Small world and all that jazz!!

Ehhh ...... and here is Mark doing his Ostrich impersonation!!! Funny face number 3.

'Je suis far tooo cool for zis pic wiz deez edjits', said Ruben (wearing green).  Ruben is from Paris and works with Tom in the bank, he has been in Boston all summer.  Besides taking part in softball games during the summer he also joined in playing tennis with Jude and Tom.

Mark is on a roll now alright.  Ehhh .... but this is actually his normal face ..... as he pulled funny face number 4.

I don't know who has the funnier face here, Tom, Mark (number 5), Tara or Grace.  Tara and Grace went for the sad approach in this one.  Tom looks like he's just been told he has got a call up to the Ireland football squad.  'Who me? Seriously!!

'If zee can't beat zem, den ze must join zemm', said Ruben this time as he went for this cool pose.

Wayne, Gary, Mark (number 6) and John look like they've just been let out for the day.

Every Thursday night around this time Tom has that same facial expression on as he wonders just how many pints he has had at this stage.  Ruben maintains the cool 'Je suis from the city of cool' approach, while Mark hits 7.

Now Ruben is totally in the groove as he tips over the edge big style and goes buck mad ............Tom has gone completely hog mad (which is just about as mad as you can go)   ......... and Grace is saying to herself, 'what the hell am I doing with these edjits?

Words cannot explain what Wayne is doing here.  Meanwhile Gary is contemplating working from home tomorrow and Mark hits 8.

'Yeee haaaa, Mark's leaving'.  Everyone shows their delight that Mark is leaving.

Seriously, everyone is celebrating the fact that Mark is such good craic and that they all had such a great summer with him. The barman took this pic from out on Beacon street.  Pretty cool it is too.

Yes the craic was great tonight but who won the funniest face award? Well...........

...... that would be Grace with this mad look or .....

.........maybe even this one.  Either way she wins hands down.

Meanwhile Tom's got a funny face on too as he's just been told it's his round, 'wha, what's that ... it's my round, no way, how do you work that out?

So ended Mark's leaving party.  Mark certainly got a good auld send off as he headed back to County Clare the next day. All the best Mark!!
