Girls Aloud - Off-loading Dollars, Feasting & Visiting the Prudential

As noted in the last post there was a delay in getting some pics and so a delay in posting about the end of Riona, Emma and Marguerite Snr's holiday.  This post covers the final few days of their trip.

They got a lot crammed into their 2 week holiday.  In the last few days they managed to wind down, have a few drinks, do some shopping, get rid of any lingering dollars and have a few nice dinners.

Riona and Marguerite fitted in a visit to the New England Aquarium ........

....... where Riona was able to see this huge turtle ...... now that is one big turtle folks!

And here is Riona being very brave as she touches the stingrays!  Marguerite was not so brave as she decided to keep her hands well out of the water.

Some restaurants just hit the spot and are declared all round winners.  The Village Smokehouse in Brookline Village is such a spot.  Here are Riona and Emma supping on their cocktails.

Emma just can't get enough so she is trying everyone else's too.  Greedy gorb!

Riona is all smiles as she has devoured her dinner in no time ...... well apart from that dish of chips sitting there ...... I wonder has she forgotten about them?

Cheers! Riona, Emma, Marguerite Jnr and Marguerite Snr had a great time over these two weeks and they were just delighted to have each other's company.  Just how Jude and Ben managed to get through it listening to 4 weemen is anybody's guess.

This is more like it .......... mum and daughter hit the bar in the Village Smokehouse for a couple of swallies and a good few laughs.

An hour or two later and everybody is conked out.  Ben loved having his Auntie Emma and his cousin Riona over and they clearly loved being with him.

Everyone who has ever visited Marguerite and Jude has crammed a shopping day in somehow.  Here are the ladies as they head out on the 'T' to snap up a few bargains.

I don't know if they realised it at the time but at this point Emma, Riona and Marguerite Snr were standing in front of one of the most historic buildings in America, Faneuil Hall in Boston.  Faneuil Hall was one of the main locations of many a speech or rally most notably in the quest for the freedom of slaves in the 1800's and both before and during the American War of Independence in the 1700's.  It has been used by politicians such as JFK and the like ever since.

Emma has just had her picture taken with Santa.  It's not the real Santa like who Ben met a few weeks ago, no, it's someone dressed up as him.

But can you guess who this Santa is?  All will be revealed in a moment!

When girls go shopping fellas are best to back off out of the road, for a fella it's akin to being dragged to the dentist to have a tooth pulled, so Jude and Ben stayed well clear today.

Oh yeah ........ before I forget.  Did you guess who the Santa was?  Zoom in there ........... have a real close look.

It's Marguerite Jnr of course!

Now it's the last full day of Riona, Emma and Marguerite's holiday.  The gang were only around the corner of Winchester St and onto Beacon St when the girls had dragged Jude into Pier One.  Sure he spied this seat and just parked himself in it while the ladies tried their best to part with whatever dollars they had left!  What amazes Jude is just how women must spend everything they have left in their pockets .......like there is no tomorrow ...... spend it all sure, blow it sure.  Jude likes to save for a rainy day!  A good balance keeps things real though.

Talking of parting with dollars ............... here's Riona in the Converse shop.  Today she got a personalised pair of trainers, aye with her name and all on it ....... an ordinary pair would not be good enough.  They were pretty cool actually.  Here she is designing the trainers herself.

Having parted ways with most of their remaining dollars the girls moved onto the Prudential Center. They were on a mission today to cram in a visit to the Prudential.  Here they are getting their pic taken outside.

And here is Emma entering the restaurant at the top of the Prudential, aptly named Top of the Hub.

Ben is very colour co-ordinated today as his outfit, bib and dummy are all matching ..... well they're kind of matching but he doesn't mind too much if their not quite perfect.  Meanwhile Emma doesn't seem to realise that it's a tad on the brightside for Ben.

Riona has just realised she has only got $12.50 left and she's trying to figure out what to blow it on.

Marguerite and Ben having a great time.

The Clarke family getting one of those nice family pics.  Happy days!

Meanwhile Emma is hogging the window in the hope that someone will take her pic, fortunately Jude was on hand to take this one.  That's a pretty nice view of Boston there heading East towards the Hancock Tower, the financial district, port and the airport away in the distance.

My Mama's fat, my Dada's fat but I'm just chubby!

It's the Clarke family again.

........... and again.

This was the last day of Marguerite's holiday and what a great holiday it was as she, Emma and Riona got to do so many exciting things on this trip.  Jude and Marguerite Jnr would like to thank Marguerite Snr so much.  You see folks, Marguerite Snr has visited Boston in every year of this amazing adventure, in 2009 (with Michael), 2010 (with Mandy), 2011 (with Michael) and 2012 (with Emma and Riona), that is just amazing and very, very considerate.  Thanks so much for making all that effort.

So as darkness fell on the last day of this trip the gang made their way home from the Prudential back to Brookline.

'Here hold on a cotton-pickin-minute what's going on with the lift here ........ what's that say there on that thing...... ah jeez ....... what floor is this ..... is this building swaying? rambled Marguerite Snr.  You see getting down in the lift was a challenge today as Marguerite Snr had a momentary fear of heights freak-out.

'These bloody lifts would frighten the life out of ye! said Marguerite Snr.

And so ended a great holiday.  Now everyone smile for the camera. Cheers!
