Ben's amazing swing park adventures

Now that Ben is getting bigger and stronger, and with the weather picking up, well Marguerite and Jude have been taking him out and about a little bit more.  His favourite thing to do is to go to the swing park.  Loves it!!

Before moving onto the exciting swing park tales a couple of other things have to be reported at this stage.  Firstly - Ben has got quite a good wee set of teeth by now and besides the odd day of 'teething' it's all good as he really has taken to them very well.  And he will chew on anything these days ......... even his Mama's finger as you can see here.

And he has started putting those teeth to good use by getting tucked into plenty of 'solid' foods.  He's delighted with the solids because he was kind of getting a little bored with the auld milk day in day out.  Though he can have a little difficulty some times hitting the target as you can see here.

Secondly - he has become very very very nosey these days.  Like here where he is stalking his Dada who happens to be doing the hoovering ..........

........ or here when he loves 'rubbernecking' to watch the traffic scoot down Winchester Street .........

............. or when he decides to watch the football.

'Nosey? ..... who me? Hehehhe

'Left a bit Dada....... right a bit Dada ....... '.

Ben checks his Dada is not bumping the pram as they headed down the steps of 32 Winchester Street.

Moments later and Ben is in Devotion Park playground.

Perhaps he was thinking 'I want out of the pram', or 'here he goes with that wee silver cube thing again' ......... regardless it sure is a great stare anyway!

On Jude's days off he likes to take Ben out to the swing park where Ben loves to nosey at the other kids playing.

And just like seemingly everything else in Brookline the swing parks are immaculate, forever tidy, well maintained and totally fun places to be and to take a child.

Ben's likes to slide and swing ............

...... but as said earlier he also loves to just look around and check things out.  It's all good, it's all learning!

Devotion Park is good but Corey Hill Park is so exciting it may very well tip you over the edge.  That's because Ben can do two amazing things up there (and he is really excited today as you can see here).

Jude has just pushed the pram up the steep Summit Avenue but by the time he gets puffs his way up to the top often times Ben has totally flaked out.

Jude doesn't mind though because it's a nice wee dander anyway, with nice views, and on a nice warm day it's just about as peaceful and as beautiful as peaceful and beautiful can be.

Eh ...... sorry about that ....getting quite carried away there .....

So when Ben's Granda Michael and Granny Marguerite were over in Boston in September 2011 they went to Martha's Vineyard with Jude and Marguerite Jnr where they bought a kite and spent part of one day flying it on the small island of Chappaquiddick.  Well that kite is now Ben's kite and he loves to watch it fly at Corey Hill Park on top of Summit Avenue.

Ben reckons his auld Dada is the best kite flier this side of Strangford Lough!

Ben will watch for ages as his Dada spins him yarn after yarn about this and that and as he shows off his amazing kite flying skills.  Ben just can't get enough of it!

Some days, when the wind is not up, the kite would struggle to get airbourne but hey .....

...... Ben doesn't mind, sure he'll continue to watch and watch.  Ben loves that kite.

And truth be told it is indeed a pretty nifty kite too.  Wha?

Well that's one amazing thing about Corey Hill Park (the kite flying!) ....... but what is the other?

Swings ........ but not just any swings ....... these are swings that Ben can fit safely into and swing about in on his own ........ that's what.  That's as good as it gets at this stage folks believe me .... this is pretty class.

Like mentioned earlier, Ben is quite nosey these days and today he spent a full 5 minutes watching the kid on the swing next to him.

Ben and Jude having fun.  These days that Jude has off work, days when he gets to spend this special time with Ben, well he believes it's priceless.  Jude reckons these moments will pass quick and as it's just sooooo important to live them, soak it all up, get in there, join in, get on like a kid again, whatever it takes, it's all good, it's all fun, it's all learning for Ben.

Like just said ......... it's all fun.  Ben loves thon swing!

Ben checking out the kid in the next swing!

(Folks ..... some of these pics are similar.  They were taken over various days but there were so many that were just so good they had to be included).

And again.

Ben having a laugh this time.

All the swinging eventually takes it toll on Ben and he flakes out.

On another random day Jude decided to take Ben down to the Fenway area where he and Marguerite used to live.  Here are Ben and Jude outside 111 Park Drive, where Jude and Marguerite lived in apt 52.

And then after a stroll through the streets of Fenway .......

....... here they are outside Fenway Park.

When will Ben see his first game?  Not today but maybe soon.

Here is Ben beside the Ted Williams statue outside Fenway Park.

Another day, same swing!

It's still the same great fun!

And he's still being nosey .....

 ....... and still swinging.

Do these two ever do anything other and go to the park?

Ben having fun.

Later ........ after all the fun in the park, Ben loves to get a wee massage from his Mama.

And then after a wee feed .......

.... he's only gone and done himself out and flaked out again.

Here are a couple of random pics .... showing you how big Ben is getting .......

...... how cute and funny he is getting .........

....... how cool, mellow and thoughtful he is getting ........

....... and how he has the most coolest wee cheeks in the whole of Brookline!
