Big Crickett match in Glenavy

Making your own fun in the garden ...... that's what this year has been all about.  Thankfully Ben has had plenty of space to play in ...... and plenty of things to do.  A different day .... a different game ....... that's how this summer was spent!!

Today was another beautiful sunny day ...... just the type of day to chill out in the garden ..... with a nice snack ........

......... and a nice drink or two.

Marguerite and Holly were enjoying the sunshine.

The little decking area on the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse is the perfect little spot to relax on.

When moving into this house in the summer of 2014 Marguerite and Jude always had a plan for this end of the garden ...... a big plan ..... to completely make use of the great space they had acquired.  It is now transformed into a complete play area ...... for kids and adults ..... and dogs!!!

Funny thing is though ...... that when the sun moves around, so too do the people.  Here Marguerite has moved to stay in the sunshine.  Meanwhile Holly just goes where there's something to chew!

'Hey Marguerite ...... fancy a game of Crickett?

'Sure, why not ..... but wait, I'll need to go get changed'.

Patiently waiting was Ben.  Here he is with his new Cricket set which he got for his 'Friday Prize' this week.  The 'Friday Prize' thing started last winter when he got packs of football cards every Friday.  Through lockdown this morphed into his 'Friday Prize' ..... for being a good boy and all that.  It debatable if he totally earned his 'Friday Prize' through this summer ..... but get it each Friday he did.

And he quickly showed that he was pretty good at Cricket as he hit a few nice shots through the garden.

As there were only three players the game worked out pretty simple.  One was batting, one was bowling and one was fielding ....... with folk taking it in turn to bat.

Marguerite did brilliant ...... reminding everyone she was a dangerous woman when she had any kind of bat in her hand.

Marguerite scored 17 runs.

Jude scored 23 runs.

Then Ben batted ..... and batted ..... and batted ......

....... and batted .....

........ until he had rattled up 58 runs!!!

Ben really is a winner!!!!
