Normally on Boxing Day Marguerite, Jude and Ben would go to the Cliftonville match, or if the weather is fine and Covid is not around they planned on going to the horse racing at Down Royal. This year they simply took a walk at Divis Mountain above west Belfast.
Here is Ben all wrapped up for the day.
Until recently they would have had Holly on the lead when out in public but when visiting this park one day just prior to a man remarked to Marguerite, 'why have you the dog on the lead? You should let her off'. The fear was always about Holly jumping up on people.
Anyway ....... Marguerite did let her off the lead ..... and it was like Holly was given a whole new freedom.
Brilliant.
It was important to get out of the house and do something, anything ........ keep active, keep fit, keep interested. With Covid people were still being advised to stay home ....... but this was a great way to enjoy a bit of normality while being able to maintain social distancing from others.

It was cold today ........ and more so at the top of the mountain. Hats were a must!!!

It's always beautiful to see some snow laying on the ground. Over the Christmas and New Year period this year there was quite a bit of it.

A couple of days later and Ben is joined on another Divis Mountain walk by Adam and Rebecca. Plenty of people were out making the most of the beautiful countryside walks on Divis.
And the Divis Mountain walks have quickly become a favourite day out for Holly too!
