Just a quick update on Ben's 2012 football team at Glenavy Youth. Since April 2021 Jude and Damian McComb have been the managers of this team. This year the boys did very well. They played in the Green level (3 levels: Green, Blue and Red) and won 19 of their 23 games, drawing one and losing only three. Good going but time to move up. So for the new season starting in September 2022 they are moving into Blue section and will be playing in the South Belfast League.
The two best achievements this year were two tournament wins. The first in this pic was at the Crewe Utd Blitz in March. The boys won their semi-final 4-2 and then won the final 5-2.
The second tournament win was at the Dungowan Tournament. In this their results were: 2-0 win, 1-1 draw, 0-1 loss, then in the semi final a 1-0 win and in the final they beat Andersonstown on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Overall it was a great year ..... well done Ben and all the kids.
