All good things come to an end, and so it was the case for Marguerite Snr and Michael with their visit to Boston. Time flies and all that malarky, it's frightening. Anyway, for their last day we decided that we would head out on a pub crawl to see them off. Well what better way to start of a pub crawl than to visit a brewery, so to the Samuel Adams Brewery Tour we marched.
Here the two Marguerite's see the funny side in having their hands stamped as proof that they were over 21 years old. Yeah, we all had to show proof, it's mad, but unlike the Razorlight gig, this time we were prepared. I mean this a country which put men on the moon (allegedly), gave us Walt Disney and, come to think of it, the Waltons too. Yet it has not trained it's people in the simple skill of being able to tell that a person in their 40's or 50's is over the age of 21. I intend to put this weird phenomonen to the test by entering the West Fenway under 12 Tennis Competition in June, just to see if they ask for ID and all like! Wha? Very few things try one's patience when in the USA but that little number is one of them let me tell you.
Lets cut to the chase here folks, below is a pic of us in the tasting room. If you want to know how beer is made go to Google and type in 'how is beer made?', that should about cover it. Anyway, it's smiles all round as we sample 3 beers during our visit. Folks, it's important to note that in America the only things that are free are air and parking tickets (you can get as many of those as you want). So when offered a glass of Boston's best beer and a glass each of two as yet un-released beers, sure we nearly caused a stampede getting into the place. Do you remember the scene when the doors opened in that Woolworths shop in London for the closing down sale, with people piling in over the top of each other and all, aye well, now you get the picture. Anyway, from the smiles on our faces you can tell we were not the unfortunate buggers being trampled on.Jude reckoned he could win a prize for this pic of Marguerite below surrounded on all sides by Samuel Adams, he thought there was a certain kind of artistic quality to it. Marguerite just told him, 'catch yourself on would ya', and that was the end of that.
