Wedding bells in Central Park

Marguerite and Jude made their way to New York again this week, this time to meet up with John and Karen who were getting married there. Here they are the night before the wedding in an Irish bar in Midtown Manhattan.

The Bride-to-be, the Best Man and the Groom-to-be enjoy the craic.

Here are Jude and John as they prepare to travel in thon limo to the wedding which was held in the most beautiful setting in Central Park.

John relaxes moments before before the wedding ceremony by striking this cool pose before.........

..........being joined by Karen and it's smiles all round as the wedding commences.

John and Karen begin life as Mr and Mrs Crawford. Jude was busy pushing the photographer out of the way to get these great pics.

This pic shows the full wedding party for John and Karen's big day. Left to right: Marguerite, Jude (Best Man), John (Groom), Karen (Bride), John (Father of the Bride), Deirdre (Bridesmaid) and Matthew. You get an idea here of the beautiful surroundings where John and Karen chose to get married. It really was a memorable ceremony.

The weather was perfect in Central Park for the wedding. Soon the jackets were off as the temperatures reached the low 90's. Ah, sure here's a nice pic of the Best Man and the Groom chilling out in the cool surroundings.

'So no one told you life was going to be this way. Your job's a joke, you're broke......' Hey Jude and Marguerite hog the opportunity to have their pic taken at the famous 'Friends' fountain in Central Park. They were really tempted to dive in too, just like in the opening scenes of the show, but thankfully they decided not to.

After the formal photographs were taken everyone made their way across Central Park in the jaunting cars. These gangsters wanted to charge $150 for the short trip to where the limousine awaited. Marguerite thrives when given an opportunity to barter and this was no exception as she quickly responded with a '$10 per car' offer. Wha? It worked, as we ended up settling on a less extortionate fee of $50 for the 4 cars. It was $50 well spent though as everyone enjoyed the jaunt across the park.

The limousine journey through Manhattan and on to Brooklyn was great fun. When the girls made Henry 'the driver' make a pit stop, it was Jude's opportunity to hit the shop. He returned with a consignment of beer. Was he being a tight git or did the shop really not stock any champagne? We may never know, but hey the Samuel Adams tasted good anyway. Here Marguerite enjoys the trip.

The River Cafe is nestled in below the Brooklyn Bridge on the Brooklyn side and it was the perfect location for a meal, befitting the occasion of John and Karen's wedding. The location, the service, the quality of the food and the setting with it's stunning views of Manhattan were all just perfect. Marguerite said it was the nicest meal she ever had. Jude choose a delicious lobster and Seabass while Marguerite had the 'special River Cafe' starter with a steak.

Yum, yum, fill yer tum - Marguerite tucks into her desert of an all-chocolate Brooklyn Bridge.

After dinner the party moved outside to a wee spot where we could enjoy some champagne and the stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. The speeches (Best Man, Father of Bride & groom)were delivered here and they were all very nice and well received. You can get a feel for just how stunning this location was in this pic which Jude took from that spot (notice the sign for The River Cafe to the right hand side).

Today was, in the words of that famous Lou Reed song.............., 'just a perfect day'.
