Miss Boston 2010

Ok folks, let's get something straight here from the outset, beauty pagaents are not Jude's bag. He is more a sporty, rock n' roller type. Fair enough? However this kinda thing is definately Marguerite's cup of tea as she is never done watching those dopey TV programs about beauty pagaents, wedding dresses, wedding cakes, folk with 20 kids, etc, etc, sure it would drive ya mad!

























Anyway as a wee surprise Jude surprised Marguerite with a trip to the Miss Boston 2010 show which was held in the famous Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston where JFK used to frequent. Marguerite could not resist getting on the stage.















Don't be fooled into thinking that this type of thing is just all about the best looking doll in a swimsuit always being the winner, oh no, there's more to it than that folks. Three hours more in fact. Marks are given based on the following: a half hour interview (done the day before thank's be to God), a talents/skills show on stage, a swimsuit parade, an evenng wear parade and an on-the-spot question and answer session. Here one of the girls displays her brilliant skills on the piano while this one below sings.






There's no easy way of putting this folks, but the swimsuit parade was eh...........................colourful!

Jude thought this doll was last year's winner and asked her for a pic. It was only after he had asked her for the pic that it dawned on him that she was not last year's winner at all but just a random person attending the event like he was, only she had a dopey crown thing on. That kind of threw Jude a little but by then it was too late of course and they had to follow through with the pic. Marguerite took the pic knowing full well Jude was making an edjit out of himself, aye feel wick and take a redner.

Marguerite loves this type of game, loves it!!!
She was delighted to get this wee surprise today. Here she is in her front row seat soaking up the atmosphere.

Now someone once told Jude, 'it's not winning that's important, it's the taking part'. Jude being a sporty type struggled bigtime with this one over the years. You see often times he thought that taking part is more important (think Boston Green Sox or Bordertrek cycling) but then often times he knew that winning was much more important (think Ballygalget, St.Pauls, DC, Barnet or any of the other teams he played in). Now Jude finally sees that that remark was indeed total crap as it was proven to him today when Miss Boston 2010 was crowned.

Sure if looks could kill, I say, if looks could kill folks, sure the winner would be dead already!
