Jude was delighted to catch up with his auld mucker Jerome 'the edge' in New York. It had been a long time coming but when Jude and Jerome met up again sure it was like they had been in each other's company the week before. Here is Jude with Jerome and Jerome's new wee baby Padraig.
Jerome and Jude were very good friends at school but when Jerome moved to New York in 1993 communications dried up somewhat. This was of course pre-internet and pre-mobile phone days. Jerome set up home in the Irish dominated Yonkers area of the Bronx in New York and then set up a great business for himself in flooring. Here is Jerome outside his lovely home which he shares with his wife Maggie.
This was the first time Marguerite met Jerome. It's just brilliant for Jude and Jerome to have rekindled a great friendship after all these years, but it was also great for Marguerite and Jerome's wife Maggie to meet and extend the friendship into a 4 way deal.
Here is Marguerite with Maggie. Maggie is from Co. Cavan. Maggie also moved to America in 1993, coincidentally in the same month as Jerome. Jude and Marguerite travelled down from Boston to New York and spent a night in New York at Jerome's house. It's funny but Jude and Jerome actually went on holiday together in 1990 and stayed in this very area of Yonkers. Jude managed to point out places and things he remembered from that trip including the house Jerome and he stayed in for a week!!!!!
Jerome and Maggie kindly took Jude and Marguerite out to Lori's house in New Jersey were part 2 of this flying visit would play out. Here is Marguerite with wee Padraig out Lori's back and beside the US flag which Scott salvaged from the old Yankee Stadium!!!!!!
Jerome stayed for a beer and some craic as he got to meet the folks. Here he is with Lori's husband Scott. Jerome had met Jude's cousin Lisa on some of her frequent trips to Ireland many moons ago and when they met today they both remembered each other - that's class.

A Saturday afternoon in New Jersey with great weather, great company, great beer and great craic. Sure what more would ya want?
Lisa, Lynn and Lori's mum, Margaret (in middle of pic), also called round. Jude had been standing beside the chair here in the foreground when Margaret and Lynn pointed at something behind Jude. Just at that same moment Jude heard 'it' moving behind him and quickly scattered across the garden while knocking the chair flying at the same time. To everyone's amusement (and Jude's embarrassment) the culprit was none other than a wee Chipmunk!!!! Margaret spend the rest of the day laughing at Jude running away from the big bad Chipmunk.

James and Jackie have certainly grown up since Jude and Marguerite's visit last year. Here they are messing around in the garden.
Likewise Maddie and Thomas have grown up loads in one year. Here they are playing with Marguerite in the garden.
'Here Jude, playing games in the garden certainly brings up a thirst, I think I'll pop one of these wee numbers open'. 'Aye, go ahead doll, give me one when you're at it', replied Jude.
Marguerite and Jude had not had a bbq in 2 years before they were in Hawaii a couple of weeks back. Now they are at another!!!! Super chef Lynn cooks up a little steak.
The sweat is blinding Scott, Lynn and Marguerite as they take a break from the dodge-ball game.
The games took their toll on poor Scott so he had to lay down for a bit afterwards!
Scott and Lori's next door garage is put to great use by Scott as he uses a projector to throw the TV images onto it. Here are Thomas and Jude as a baseball game is shown.
Marguerite thought this was great craic altogether. Here she is enjoying a comedy show......
......before the night ended with a Pink Floyd rock concert. This was another great trip to New York and New Jersey.
