Discovering Brookline, Chestnut Hill and....a few pubs

Since Marguerite and Jude moved into their new apartment in Winchester Street Brookline they have been trying to explore the area a little. This has not been easy with Marguerite having been in New York for one weekend and then in Ireland for three weekends. So recently they had a little more time and set about getting their bearings a wee bit more. Here Marguerite takes a stroll down Harvard St in Brookline.





Marguerite is really excited to be in the Coolidge Corner area of Brookline with all it's cool restaurants to visit. While in Fenway Thaitation was visited very regularly, yes it was nice, but every night of the week? For two years!! Wha?

There is so much choice up in Brookline, like this cool fish and chip restaurant for example, it's class!!!!





Meanwhile when Jude was out running one day he discovered Chestnut Hill at BC (Boston College). Here he is looking all colour co-ordinated with the blue sky and water as he danders around there.









And here he is scoffing one of the Mr Kipling's Cherry bakewell tarts that Marguerite brought back from Ireland. Yum, yum, fill yer tum! Marguerite brought a full suitcase of supplies to cover the next few months. Things like: Mr Kiplings Bakewell Tarts, potato bread, Mars Bars, Snickers, Quality Street, Tea Bags, Pancakes.......you know, essentials like!!!



Jude's mate Barry is due to arrive soon so as there amazingly after 6 weeks in the area Marguerite and Jude had not researched all the pubs in the area. So they decided to do a wee Saturday pub crawl.....to test them out before Barry arrives.....to review them like......well because this will be important!!!!

Marguerite clearly liked the Publick House.








After the Publick House there were another couple of pubs (Washington Sq Tavern, Regal Beagle) on this amazing Saturday pub crawl but Jude forgot to take pics of them. Wonder why? Wha? Too much swally, that's why!!!








A couple of nights later and Jude has dragged Marguerite out for another wee dander around Chestnut Hill. Marguerite likes to walk, but not as much as Jude, he's a melter when it comes to walking. Since they found Chestnut Hill (which is pretty nice as you can see here) he wants to walk around it now every other night of the week!!!! Wha?

It's like the calm before the storm. You see...........Jude's mate Barry is due to arrive in the next day or two and while both Marguerite and Jude are excited making plans for his arrival, they've also been getting plenty of sleep, relaxing a lot, eating well and of course drinking loads of water. Something tells them that these things may well be lacking over the comings days!!!!!
