Bye, bye Hamill Park

Marguerite Jude and Ben recently spent their last few days in 5 Hamill Park.  It was a great house to live in and on a great street with super neighbours.  Here is the story of their last few days.

Marguerite loves pumpkins.  She loves carving them ............... she loves cooking them ........and she loves .......

...... Ben dressed up in one.

During the last days in Hamill Park Ben got to rock his cool new pumpkin outfit that he got at Halloween.

Sure you may as well get the wear out of it!!

Isn't he cool.  Wha?

Oh yeah ....... when Marguerite and Jude were away in Boston their tenant had a cat called Oscar.  Oscar became quite attached to Hamill Park and chose to stay when the owner moved on.  In particular he was attached to number 5.  So he would hang around and scrounge for food and milk and every now and again he would sneak in a window and you would find him hiding below a bed or something.

Ben grew quite fond of Oscar and he would often look out at him ....... maybe just wondering what Oscar's story was?  Ben and Jude began to feed Oscar and sure before you knew it he was as good as a part of the family.

Oscar would lay anywhere around the house, in the house, up the tree, on the window ....... and even on the roof of the Mazda!  But when the time came to move sadly Marguerite, Jude and Ben could not take Oscar because they moved in with Marguerite's family for a couple of weeks while awaiting the completion of the deal to move into their new house. But maybe they'll go back for him when they get into their new house.

Besides Oscar, recently Ben has also been fascinated with ...........

............. the washing machine ......

......... and climbing the stairs.  Here he is as he takes off scooting up while laughing away (because he knows he shouldn't be doing it).

And here he is just messing about playing football with Max.

These days Ben also loves going to Mass.  He dances during all the Hymns  and tries to sing along.  It's great craic so here he is with his Mama as they head into St Teresa's on the Glen Road.

About a week before leaving Hamill Park it was Rebecca's 1st birthday.  Rebecca is the daughter of Kerry.  Today her party started with a trip to the Swimming baths.  Here are ben and Rebecca all dolled up waiting to get started.

Truth be told Ben did not really enjoy the swimming malarkey ....... for now it was not really his gig ........ what was more his gig was ......

...... part two of the party back in Rebecca's house where there were ...........

...... loads of food to eat ......

....... and toys to play with.

And here he is, again with Rebecca and again hogging the toys ....... Rebecca's toys!

Happy 1st birthday Rebecca!

A couple of days later reality begins to kick in as Marguerite is peeling the Sports stickers from Ben's bedroom wall.

Soon they would be moving out.

Ben was helping too.

'Look Ben, the Cat in the Hat, your favourite!

Before you knew it things started to disappear.  Everything was boxed and stored and furniture was moved out.  Even the TV is down from the wall too.  At this stage all that was left was the coffee table.

Moving out of 5 Hamill was a little surreal, moving always is, but for Marguerite, Ben and Jude this would be their second major move of this year alone.  So on the final day Marguerite checked the meter ............

........... Ben wondered where his other shoe was ...........

....... and Marguerite and Jude took the last pic at good auld 5 Hamill Park.

Well ok, time for one more then!

Marguerite and Jude bought this house on in April 2003.  So taking away the 4 1/2 years they were in America they lived in here for 6 years.

Good times!

Roll on the next adventure!
