Pre-Christmas adventures - Freaking out, First steps and Moving .... again!

December was a busy month.  Firstly, Marguerite, Jude and Ben's move to their new home suffered a bit of a hitch when an issue arose concerning the mapping of the land they are trying to buy, meaning they would be unable to move in for another couple of months.  So they were welcomed with open arms to Marguerite's parents home for a few weeks before moving into their own rented apartment.  This pic was taken in the new apartment.

Upon moving out of Hamill Park they settled into Brooke Drive very nicely indeed and ended up staying three weeks.  Here are Marguerite and Emma sharing some bubbles after putting up the Christmas tree.

Meanwhile Ben is mesmerized at the wonderful colour and beauty of the tree.

Ben's Granny and Granda Crossan presented him with this cool 'walker' while in Brooke Drive.  This was a truly great gift and it did exactly as it said on the box ........ it helped Ben get mobile ................ and to walk.  Immediately everyone submerged themselves into this exciting project.

Ben began using the 'walker' and within two weeks he was taking his first steps.  Obviously this was a big deal and a momentous occasion.  It was a very exciting time knowing that any day now he would be walking unaided.  Even Jess the dog was impressed!

Very quickly Ben's confidence built and he was taking a few more chances.

Today Marguerite paid a visit to Adventures, that's Ben's school.  It is a fantastic place and Ben loves it.  Today he is rocking his new Elf outfit.

The staff in Adventures complement Ben's progress by encouraging and helping him daily.  Rebecca is great at her work ..........

........ as is Julie too of course.

'Right now, let's get these prams on the go for some action then', Ben may have been thinking here.

Ben's use of these prams in school ..........

............... and his use of his 'walker' at home, was priceless.

The time in with Ben's Grandparents was wonderful as he really got to share so much fun and precious time with them.

He also spent an awful lot of time playing havoc with the Christmas Tree decorations .........

.......... and sweeping the floor.

Ben does not mind where he gets bathed.  After Winchester Street and Hamill Park he was just as comfortable in the sink at his Grandparents house.

After realising that the 'delay' in moving to their new house would take them well into 2014 Marguerite and Jude decided to move into their own place.

And so the week before Christmas they moved into 6a The Park, Upper Dunmurry Lane in Dunmurry.  It is a two bedroom apartment and is just about 5 miles from Belfast City Centre.  Here are Ben and Marguerite practising those walking skills again ....... that's Ben's walking skills of course!

6a The Park is a lovely wee spot tucked away down a laneway and surrounded by trees. It also has this cool wee patio area which would be really nice in summer months but it is not likely that Marguerite, Jude and Ben will be here beyond March or April.

As soon they moved in the Christmas decorations were put up.  Today the Nutcracker read, '9 Days to Christmas'.

Ben trying to play a tune .........

...... and helping his Mama put up their spectacular tree.

Today Ben was dressed in his Elf outfit again (his parents were determined to get their money's worth out of this outfit) because it was Christmas Party day at his school.  Ehhh ..... that did not go too well ............. actually by all accounts it was a little traumatic.

Why?

Well because Ben freaked out when it was his turn to meet Santa, that's why.  Here he is losing it big style as he is presented with his gift.  A pic for the future.   Very funny!!!

Later that evening Ben was much happier as he got tucked into his gift.  But what could it be?  Oh the excitement!

Ben had received a book and a pack of Milky Bars.  Perfect!! 8 days to go.

As soon as the tree was up Ben was hoaking and poking at it, taking balls off here and there and inspecting all the cool wee ornaments.  7 days to go.

And thankfully the apartment has no stairs, it is all on ground level, and so Ben can safely roam about all he likes.  Here he is looking waiting on his Mama returning from the shop.

Actually the apartment is totally cool and brilliantly furnished ........ even the TV came with the apartment!

6 days to go.

Another home ......... and yet another sink to get bathed in.  This pic shows the kitchen of the apartment at 6a The Park.  pretty nice actually and again it was fully loaded with the washing machine and even the microwave included.

This week Jude was particularly thrilled to have taught Ben how to throw a ball.  Here he is chucking it across the room like a champion.

The stockings were all hung and ready to be filled.  5 days to go.

Sometimes the excitement would get too much and Ben would need a little hug or two.

4 days to go.

So, as stated, it has been a hectic few weeks indeed with moving again and the whole matter of the build up to Christmas but it was great fun.  Now Christmas is just around the corner.
