Adam's Baptism Day

Today was the wonderful occasion of Baby Adam's Baptism / Christening.  Adam is the son of Emma and Dee (David) and was born on 03rd January 2015 and weighed in at 8lbs 1oz.

Image result for photo of st michael's chapel finaghy road northThe ceremony was held at St Michael's on Finaghy Road North.

Emma and Marguerite were looking great as usual, all dolled up ..... and all smiles and all.  Wha?

Here they are fixing Adam up to make sure he was looking his best too.

Just like Emma was Godmother for Ben, well Marguerite was Godmother for Adam.  Perfect!

Father Michael (of Clonard Monastery, native of Longford and a good family friend of the Crossan Family) did the honours of Baptising Adam.  Adam was Christened Adam James Brown.

It's funny how at events like this often, by complete accident, folk end up wearing similar colours.  Take this pic of the Baptismal Party most of whom are decked out in dark blue.  In the pic are L-R: Father Michael, Marguerite, Emma, Adam, Dee and Samuel.  Samuel is Dee's uncle and had the honour of being Adam's Godfather.

They did scrub up well mind.

The cameras were clicking left, right and centre at this stage.  In this pic are L-R: Lil (Dee's Granny), Michael Snr, Emma, Adam, Dee, Janet (Dee's Mum), Marguerite Snr and Father Michael.

Here is little Adam looking very cool indeed in his Baptism outfit which his Godmother Marguerite (and Jude & Ben) got him.  The beautiful blanket crocheted for Adam by his Granny Janet.

What a beautiful little child Adam is.

Adam is so cool he has even had a poster made up of him already.  This was of course the poster / banner thingy Emma had got made for his Christening Party.  The party was held in the Andersonstown Social Club, or 'The PD' as it's known to it's friends and locals, and this banner was spread across the wall.

Ben didn't take long to figure out where the Candy Wheel and the sweetie corner were.

Megan and Mary had loads of fun last summer at the Boyzone concert at West Belfast Feile along with Marguerite Snr, Jnr and Emma ........ and today was soon having the craic.

Adam's cake was pretty spectacular too.  It was made by local renowned baker and St Paul's stalwart Brian Coyle.

And from the other side.

Ben hovered around the cake and the sweets and the balloons.  After all these are some of Ben's favourite things!

Jennifer and Gillian were having plenty of fun trying to keep Alex and Ella entertained.

Meanwhile Ben was having plenty of fun with his big cousins Grace and Leah.

Rhiannon received good news just a day of two before when she achieved an 'A' grade in her Mathematics GCSE ....... and she did it one year early!!!  Here is Rhiannon with Ruirai.

Jude and Karen catching up and having a laugh.

Megan and Marguerite must have thought it was St Patrick's Day today as they were in all shades of green ......... St Patrick's Day is next week folks.  But the most important thing was they were having fun.

Kevin and Jude can pull a good pose when they want to!

Megan, Marguerite and Mary.

Baba and Dada.  Ben in a reluctant pose this time.  Maybe that was because he knew his song was on next.  What song?

Ben's favourite song is Michael Jackson's 'Don't Stop Till You Get Enough'.  When it came on he wasted no time hitting the dancefloor!

Megan has appeared on this blog a few times.  It's hard to believe it's 6 years since she was in Boston when she and her sister Aideen stayed with Marguerite and Jude for three weeks.

Emma and Teresa have a double selfie.  Teresa and Emma are the best buddies in the whole world!!!

After the party moved to the front bar of The PD the craic continued just the same.  By this stage Marguerite had taken ben and Adam home to allow Emma to stay on out for a while.

Michael, Emma and Marguerite all smiles at the end of a great day.

At this stage Jude, Megan, Jennifer and Alex jumped in a taxi and headed out to Pigeontown Road .......

......... where Marguerite was busy minding baby Adam.  Marguerite had ordered in a Chinese and so Megan, Jennifer, Jude & Marguerite settled down with some nice food and a beer to chat the evening away.

Meanwhile cousins Ben and Alex where getting to know each other and having fun.

Here is Adam chilling out on Ben's bed.  Ben doesn't know what to think.

Ben found it rather amusing that Adam was laying there resting himself like he owned the place.

'Wait .......... he thinks this is his bed ........ hahahaha .......no no ............ my bed ...... hahahaha!!!

A couple of days later and Ben's slide was brought out for the first time in 2015.

Ben does not really care if it's not the warmest so long as he can have fun.   Stick on a coat and hat and away ye go!

In the past month or so Ben has been dragging his Dada down the Pigeontown Road to this spot .....

......... where there's loads of room to play football and check out the sheep at the same time!  That's multitasking!

Adam, Ben and Mouse messing around.

Last summer the view out the back of Marguerite, Jude and Ben's house was of cows but early this year it is of sheep.  Will the cows return soon?
