Easter is definitely one of the best times of the year ....... Ben certainly seems to think so anyway. Lots of Easter Eggs and lots of fun ......... sure what more would you want?

On Easter Saturday Marguerite was out working hard trying to get the garden in order in time for all the visiting guests due to arrive on Easter Sunday.

Thankfully Ben was on hand to help out otherwise Marguerite may not have been able to cope!
And thankfully he had his tractor and cart which came in really handy in shifting all those pesky tree trimmings.

Marguerite loves getting out and about in the garden, planting this, planting that, trimming this, pruning that .......... she's becoming quite the gardener!

Ben likes to eat when he's working!

And before you knew it the scene was set.

In the recent past Easter meant a couple of days off work, maybe a weekend away someplace nice 'down south', perhaps a little bit of sunshine and if you were really lucky ....... maybe an Easter Egg.

But now with Ben around well it has taken on a whole new meaning for Marguerite and Jude as they try to ensure that it's as special as possible for Ben.
Will the Easter Bunny stop at 23a Pigeontown Road??
We'll have to wait and see.

Indoors is mostly about the food ...... and perhaps a beer or two as the sun sets. Kerry baked this cake. Kerry is one of Marguerite's best friends and on Easter Saturday she had been out delivering her home-baked goods when she was involved in a serious car incident which left her in hospital with serious injuries.
Get well soon Kerry.

Ben took an instant shine to Kerry's cake.

The problem was the cake was set on the table at lunchtime!!! There was a whole day of eating chocolate to go and lunchtime was a little on the 'early' side so the lid went back on ..... needless to say Ben was not best pleased!

Moments later folk had started arriving. Here Rhiannon and Marguerite were quick to enjoy the company of baby Faidh.

Riona and Ben were soon having some craic as the excitement built in anticipation for the day's big event ........

............. the Easter Egg Hunt. Just as Jude opened the back door out ran everyone in a mad dash to try and grab all the eggs which the Easter Bunny left in the garden.
Every picture tells a story. From this pic alone you can get an idea of who has did this before (Leah, Riona, Grace, Conor, Cormac), who is ABSOLUTELY determined to get the best egg (Grace), and who is a complete novice at this kind of gig (Ben).

And when 'push came to shove' on the first egg ....... well again you could see who the seasoned campaigners were as they all huddled around the first egg. But who is the craftiest, fastest and altogether champion Easter egg hunter?

Riona McCann of course!!!! 'Outta my way, I got the egg', she screamed. Well that may have been the first egg but there were 45 to look for and they were not as small as this one!!

Talking of folk who have did this before .......... Ben's granda Michael showed he was no dozer when it came to Easter Egg hunts as he helped Grace scoop this one.

Had Conor been six months younger he wouldn't have been tall enough to reach this one ..... but reach it he did!
(Note: Have you noticed how hard it is to actually see these eggs ......... well I suppose that means they were expertly hidden by the mysterious Easter Bunny!)

After nabbing all the eggs from the back garden the gang sprinted down the side garden .......

........ before Rhiannon scooped this one.

Just how did Ben's Auntie Emma find this one?

Amid all the mad Easter Egg hunting scenes Michael mumbled to himself, 'I always get the hard jobs'.

Meanwhile Mary was getting on with the job at hand. Mary's pockets were full of chocolate at this stage!

This egg was so well hid Cormac nearly lost his arm in the tree!

It took Ben a while ...... but eventually he got the drift of the game and he found his first egg ....... and his second soon after.
Meanwhile Marguerite was empty handed but trying her best mind ......... and eventually ........

...... even she managed to find an egg. It was a wee cream egg but it was an egg all the same!

Aha ....... the auld egg hidden in the post box lark ......... Conor was all over this one big time. In the background Ben is taking note and already planning ahead to next year's event.

Mary looks really, really disappointed with the egg she just found in thon hedge!

Cormac knew to look in the 'not-so-obvious' places.

Even though Riona got the first egg it could be argued that Grace was today's winner ........ she had so many eggs she didn't have enough hands to hold them all.
Meanwhile Ben was thinking ....... 'This is the best game ever'.

After the Easter Egg hunt Cormac keep a good look over the eggs.
Then ......... like it was said earlier .......

......... Easter is also a good time to have a beer or four.
Here is some 'multitasking' Dee style ....... having a swall while waving 'hello' at the same time.

'Sure what else would ye be doing on Easter Sunday afternoon? Said David.
Happy Easter from Dee.

Michael has never really been on the blog too often .......... here he is having the craic and some Chinese beer on Easter Sunday.

If you never knew it before it is now official that Riona and Marguerite are exactly the same height!

Ok wait ....... this is a line up ....... as requested and managed by Marguerite. It was like something out of Only Fools and Horses tryinng to get everyone lined up in order. It was supposed too be oldest to youngest .......

...... or was it tallest to shortest? Anyway after about 7 takes this was the best of the bunch.
Spot the person trying their best to hid in this pic. Hmmmm .... who could that be?

Meanwhile back at the ranch ........ Marguerite is burning stuff in the ...... ehhh sorry .... I mean she's cooking lovely food in the kitchen.

....... while Leah, Riona and Michael pull this cool pose.

Leah, Ben and Cormac get tucked in.

Easter Sunday's desert was served out in the back garden.

Today's desert was Kerry's cake (as mentioned earlier) with fresh cream and ice cream. Nice!
Ben and Grace are best buddies and today they had the best Easter Sunday ever!
