The day Lindsey's Heart was Robbed

Recently Jude and Marguerite traveled to Galway for the wonderful wedding of their friends Robert and Lindsey.

Lindsey and Robert were back from Boston for their Wedding and it was great to be able to spend the day with them.

It's the day before and rather than do the whole trip in one go they stopped off in Kilbeggan, County Westmeath.

Loughnagore House B&B was their stopping point for the night and a very nice place it was too.  It was just outside the village of Kilbeggan.

After dropping off the bags they quickly made their way into Kilbeggan itself.

They settled in the Saddlers Inn for an hour or two.

And after a fairly long drive a nice drink was in order.

The plan was to do a small pub crawl but having secured a nice wee spot in this place Marguerite and Jude remained here for the evening.

So ........ today was the day Lindsey's heart would be Robbed ....... and it started off with a very nice breakfast in the beautiful setting of the B&B.

Marguerite is all dolled up and ready to go.

The wedding was being held at Glenlo Abbey Hotel in Galway.  Here Jude and Marguerite have just settled into the venue.

Jude first met his friend Robert in March 2009 in Boston when they both worked at the Irish Immigration Center.  Robert was on his University of Limerick co-op placement and Jude and he quickly became good friends.

Lindsey and Robert exchanging their wedding vows.

The picture is a bit blurry but the moment is a special one as Robert and Lindsey are all smiles having just been married and are now making their way through their friends and family.

It was a really hot day and as soon as the vows had been exchanged Marguerite and Jude popped out onto the nice balcony area to chill out for a moment.

Congratulations!!!!!

Jude greets Lindsey and offers congratulations and best wishes for the future.

The gardens of the Glenlo Abbey Hotel were very nice indeed.

The wedding guests needed no extra invitation to get out there.  Here is Marguerite sipping Champagne and enjoying the nice scenery.

Marguerite has struck up conversation with Na from Boston.

And here are Jude and Marguerite with Robert's Mum Maria.  Maria met Jude and Marguerite on a few occasions in Boston, when she and Rob's Dad Donal would be over visiting Rob.  Maria and Donal also very kindly let Marguerite and Jude stay in their second home down in Kerry for a weekend.  The Sadlier's are a lovely family and it wa sgreat to be here among them today.

Lindsey is from Chicago and she met Rob in Boston.  Here she is with Jude and Marguerite.

Roberto De Matteo has joined in for this nice pic.  Wedding days are special days anyway but some are better than others ....... this was one of those really great wedding days with a great location, great weather, great food and most importantly ....... plenty of craic!!!

Marguerite always insists on taking a pic of the dress at every wedding.  Well here it is and a very nice dress it was too!!

The couple of hours after the ceremony were really nice and now it was time to head to the meal and speeches part of the evening.  Here is Marguerite making her way through the hotel.

Rob's idea of a little Wedding Day keepsake was this cool wee bottle opener.

And here is Marguerite showing it off.

Moments later and Rob and Lindsey entered the room to lots of cheering and clapping ........

 ........ before taking their seats.

Wedding speeches are great.  It's that one rare but special moment where you get to say really great things about someone in front of such a large gathering of friends and family.  Here Lindsey's Mum discusses all things Lindsey and wishes the married couple the best of everything.

Weddings are also great days for meeting people.  Joining Marguerite and Jude here are Sinead and Brian Hart.  Brian and Sinead were great craic today and it was a pleasure sharing a meal with such nice folk.

Then it was Robert and Lindsey's turn to do their speeches and there was plenty of laughter as they thanked everyone for coming today and told a couple of funny stories.

The pose for the guests.

Cutting the cake - Take 2.

Lindsey butchers the cake!!!

Cutting the cake - Take 3.

Lindsey desperately tries to avoid completely wrecking the cake and losing a finger.

Cutting the cake - Take 4.

Rob and Lindsey have a good laugh at Lindsey's rather dodgy attempts to cut up the cake.

Glenlo Abbey at night.

In the grounds of the hotel sits this pretty cool restaurant.  It's a train carriage converted into a restaurant and it looked class.  Maybe next time when in Galway this might get another visit.

Jude and Marguerite had nipped out for a dander to walk off some of the delicious meal they had just received and take a wee break before hitting the dance floor.

And you know that at a wedding ...... your place is .......... on the dance-floor.

As is tradition ....... the newly married couple were the first to hit the dance floor.

And Rob and Lindsey proceeded to chuck down a couple of really cool dance moves it has to be said.

It was not quite John Travolta and Lady Diana but it was pretty close I suppose!!

And within minutes the party was in full swing as all the guests were up and chucking down some moves of their own.  Marguerite and Jude danced and danced ....... and had a great time.

The craic was great as everyone joined in.

The Hora is a great part of Jewish wedding tradition.

This is when the bride and groom are hoisted in the air on a chair as friends and family dance around them.

The band tonight had traveled all the way from Dublin and were just outstanding.

Today was a simply great day.

Congratulations to Lindsey and Rob on planning and organizing such a great day (from so far away) and congratulations on your marriage to one another.  We wish you nothing but the best for everything in the future.
