Ski holiday - Poland (Part 1)

There's no better way to kick off a new year than a nice skiing trip.  So Marguerite, Jude and Ben are in Poland to make the most of the season.

Arriving in Poland was very exciting because as you can see from these pics the timing was perfect with there having been a big snow fall the night before.

And here is the view from the accommodation looking across the road towards Nosal which can be seen between the trees.

Marguerite and Ben settled in pretty quickly and within minutes they were all set to head out to the slopes.

Ben leaving the hotel.

Everyone is well wrapped up ....... especially Marguerite as she sports the Cliftonville scarf there.

Marguerite, Jude and Ben's hotel can be seen here in the background, their room is the top one nearest the road with views out windows on both sides.

After the trip from Krakow Airport first stop was a spot of lunch.

Soup and beer ...... perfect!

Re-fueled and ready to go ...... Jude and Ben.

The calm before the storm.

And I do mean 'storm'.

As you can see in these pics there was a snow storm actually happening when they made their first visit to the slopes.

Today Ben is wearing his new blue Ski Jacket.

Ben had never skied during a snow storm before but he enjoyed it all the same.

With all the snow that fell the night before and today it made conditions absolutely perfect for skiing ........ even falling was comfortable as it was all so soft.

Arrival in Zakopane was around 2pm so by the time lunch was over entry to the ski slopes was around 4pm.  Therefore day one was all about night skiing which is beautiful under the lights.

Here is Ben making his way up the 'T' bar lift.

Afterwards Ben is enjoying running around the Ski Chalet.

And dreaming of winning a medal perhaps.

Back in the hotel Ben is checking out the fish in the fish tank.

The hotel was a lovely wee spot indeed.

This is the breakfast area.

Back up in the room and Ben is peeking out through the railings as he checks out all the beautiful snow and the local area.

And here are the views he had.

Nice!

And as you can see from this pic taken on the hotel room balcony the ski slopes at Nosal were literally just across the street ...... a 2 minute walk.

Ben is delighted to have his own Ski slope pass this year.  In previous years Jude or Marguerite would have managed his entrance to the lifts but this year his first big learning point was to learn to do this for himself.

Skiing day two.  Marguerite and Ben are getting the passes for today.

The ski slopes were in perfect condition ...... full of fresh snow.

Marguerite and Ben dandering through Nosal.

Lunch time on day two.

Family pic at Nosal, Zakopane.

Ben meeting Stramus bear at Nosal.

Before heading over to the ski run.

With his new pass holder Ben was able to make his own way through the gate to the ski run.

And off he went!!!!

5 years old and doing it all himself.  Brilliant.

Ben heading up the run.

Quickly followed by Marguerite.

Ben made great progress today and by the end of it he was able to ski the more steeper slopes and work the lifts on his own.

Now for dinner time .......

.......... and a well earned break to look out over the action on the slopes.

This spot was perfect for some Apres Ski people watching ........ over a pint or two.

Later on back at the hotel Ben has completed his new Spiderman Jigsaw which he got at Christmas time.

Before heading down for a game of pool.

The games room in the hotel was pretty cool indeed.  Besides the pool table it had this nice seating area and .....

..... and lots of things to keep Ben entertained.

Jude showing how its done.

You just can't beat a winter holiday!!!
