I know that some of you good folks at home are interested in what Jude James Charles is getting up to during the hours of daylight. Well this week I have been working away as part of the International Programmes Team at The Irish Immigration Center. That sounds really exciting, I hear you say. Well it is actually, and I must say I am getting great satisfaction out of doing this work and through working with the people I have stumbled upon here. My role involves helping students and recent graduates from Ireland with their J1 Visa applications. I have had to hit the ground sprinting as things are already speeding up as we approach the busy summer period and as a result I have found myself already heavily involved in the work of the International Programs team. Well obviously an ideal scenario would be that they would take me on in a paid capacity when I get my work permit (today the boss asked me when I expect to get my work permit through - am I being presumptious or am I being daft). Anyway fingers crossed!
So anyway now that I am out of my box of routine at home I am exploring all sorts of things here in Boston. After seeking opionion from all the friends we have already built up here, who feel that there is a need for this, I have even applied to the newspaper 'The Irish Emigrant', to write a weekly news article on Northern Ireland issues (these are covered but could be better in the opinion of me and many others) or to possibly write a more relaxed fun article about this Irish couples's experiences here. Again keep the auld fingers crossed muckers as ya just never know, I say ya never know!
I will not be boring you with lots of info about work but I just thought you might be wondering.

Here, J&M it looks like you two are having a ball, freezing and all that it is!!! You look like naturals on the ice - Judas you seem to be on a par with Todd Carty (ask anyone back home about him - he became a legend on Dancing on Ice this year!!)
That ice sliding/rubber ring thingy looks exactly up my street - loads of craic and absolutely no skill required, jealous as f**k I am!! The sooner the J jalf of J&M gets some honest labour going I'll be very happy as seeing you two have the time of your life is quite depressing for me actually.......
Take care folks
