Marguerite's Mum and Dad arrived back in Boston much to Marguerite and Jude's delight. Michael was last here in March 2009 while Marguerite Snr was last here in September 2010 (and March 2009 before that). You could say that at this stage they are getting to know their way around Boston quite well.
First things first folks.
As usually is the case, visitors from Ireland come fully loaded with potatoe bread and chocolate for Jude and Marguerite to gorb on, and this trip was no exception. Here is Jude all smiles as he re-stocks the freezer with enough potatoe bread to feed a herd of cattle.

On the first night of their trip Michael and Marguerite Snr joined Marguerite and Jude at the Beacon Street Tavern for dinner. Eh.....I don't think the settings were correct on the auld camera there folks, but ye get the picture.
Michael quickly checked out the Guinness but he found that the good name of Guinness may travel well but the quality of the draft unfortunately does not.
On their first full day in Boston Michael and Marguerite took themselves off on a Whale-watching trip up the coast of Maine. Afterward they met Jude and nipped into Mr Dooley's to check out the place they had heard so much about.
Michael looks just at home in Mr Dooley's.
Nice flowers. Nice smile. Nice pic. 'Hey Marguerite, could ye have brought a bigger bag to the restaurant', asked Jude. 'Sure that's only a wee bag fer nipping about with, I love me bags ye know', replied Marguerite.
Here is Jude joining in with the pics as Michael and Marguerite settle in to life in Boston again.
Very quickly the bags were packed again and they were off to New York City. Check out Michael's cool Hawaiian shirt. Wha?
The Paramount Hotel in Midtown New York was where they stayed. They nipped up here to chuck in their bags before heading our on the New York adventure.
They decided to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge conecting the Lower East Side of Manhattan to Brooklyn. Here are Marguerite Snr and Jnr as they find the Brooklyn Bridge walkway.
Dandering, keeping fit, working up a thirst over the East River.
The views of lower Manhattan and......
.....Midtown Manhattan were class. That's the Empire State Building there in the middle.
This was an eerie moment for Michael, Marguerite Snr and Jnr as folk began pointing at this scene and gasping as they feared this was some kind of terror attack. You see folk were already on edge at this stage as this was Saturday September 10th, one day before the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and all the news reports that week pointed to concerns over a repeat attack in New York. Fortunately this was merely a fire in a building and nothing more, but momentarily scary nonetheless.
These folk have just got married and are walking back across the bridge to Brooklyn.
All this walking had soon build up a thirst so the 3 Amigos stumbled across the Beekman pub in Lower Manhattan..........
............for a wee refreshment like. Michael gave the Guinness another go.
One for me, one for you and one for you.
Marguerite has just nailed 3 tickets to see tonights showing of 'The Phantom of the Opera' on Broadway. Nice..............but is that her eyes beginning to close there? Is tiredness kicking in, well maybe not, maybe it's just the pic, but I coulda swore her eyes were beginning to close there.
Michael and Marguerite enjoying their pitstop at The Beekman.

Soon they had made their way to the Broadway area of New York.

The Broadway area of New York is an exciting mix of lights, car horns, speed, urgency, diversity and................

..........mad folk jumping up and down in Times Square. Here hold on a cotton-pickin-minute.....that's not a mad person, that's Michael!! Marguerite Jnr has asked Michael to jump up for an action shot pic but Michael's idea of jumping is hunkering down before straightening up and waving his arms!!! Check him out here. Wha?

After all that exercise (and jumping up and down) Michael had one thing on his mind. Snooooooooozzzzzing.
It sure was great to finally get a lay down but did he catch any zzzz's? Not yet. Sure how could he when he was stuck in a room with 2 dolls and as many hairdryers going. But Michael had a plan......a cunning plan.
So everyone got dolled up and were soon off to see the show.

Inside the Majestic Theatre and they are seated for the show with their pillows all puffed up and nicely tucked up their backs. Ah sure they were so comfortable they could have dozzed off. They wouldn't do that though, not at one of the top shows on Broadway, surely not. Aye, Michael and Marguerite Snr lasted 20 mins before they were snoring away goodo either side of Marguerite Jnr. In fact they snored so loudly they had to be woken up as they caused a disturbance in the audience and were nearly chucked out! That's a bloody good show with top dollar tickets and what do they do? Fell asleep & snored. Wha?

'The signs say long haired freaky people need not apply'........................eh sorry, I got carried away there that's a song, actually the signs did say, 'No photos please', but Marguerite Jnr being the cunning wise auld fox she is waited until the end to snap this fantastic shot of the main characters in the 'Phantom of the Opera'. 'They can chuck me out now if they want, sure the show's over', she was heard mumbling.

After a good night's sleep they were up early the next day and out for another dander. This time through Central Park. Here they are at 'Strawberry Fields'.

'Imagine all the people.....'

Michael in Strawberry Fields. They spent the day dandering around Central Park before heading back to get their bus back to beautiful Boston.

'Ok naaiy, that's enough walking for me, I'm cream-crackered, let's have a wee break wha?', says Michael. 'Bloody hell.....that Marguerite one is nearly as bad as Jude for thon walking lark, bloody legs are walked off me they are', said Marguerite Snr.
